Daniel Carey, noted preservationist and President of Historic Savannah Foundation, will explain how this is being done using the concept of a revolving fund. Savannah was one of the earliest communities to employ this strategy to save and restore buildings. The 30-minute talk will be followed by a one-hour trolley tour of these success stories. Yvonne J. Grovner will weave her traditional Sea Island sweet grass baskets and tell of the art that is passed down through generations. Grovner was taught by Master basket maker Allen Green of Sapelo Island. Watch firsthand how she weaves her baskets.
