What style are the homes on the tours? 
  Homes in Savannah vary in age, size, and style.  Most are high-stooped with 8 to 12 steps to climb for entry and are not handicapped accessible.  These homes are private residences, so interior design may range from period, to traditional, to contempory, and to modern.
 
How many sites will we see on each tour? 
  Each walking tour offers a minimum of 4 to 6 homes and gardens. Sometimes, businesses are included in the tour, but they are typically in addition to the 4 to 6 homes and gardens.
 
Is each day a different tour? 
  Yes! Each day offers a tour of a different area of Historic Savannah. Most tours fall inside the Landmark Historic District or noted otherwise.
 
Do I need to buy a ticket for a specific day/time? 
  Yes, each day is a different tour, and you will be admitted into the tour sites for only the specific day and time indicated on the ticket. Typically, a 3-hour window is allowed for day tours and a 2- to 2.5-hour window is allowed for evening tours.
 
Where does my walking tour start? 
 

These are self-guided tours, so you may visit sites in any order and at your own pace.  You may start a walking tour at any home on the tour that day.  The guide book will give you a map of each tour.  We suggest you be at one of the homes at the beginning of your ticket time to take maximum advantage of your time interval.

 
How do I get to the walking tours? 
  The City of Savannah offers a free trolley in the historic district. The stops on the trolley are limited. Their website is http://www.catchacat.org/shuttle.aspx. You may also walk, drive, or take a taxi. Keep in mind parking will be limited.
 
What attire is appropriate to wear? 
  Casual attire with comfortable walking shoes is appropriate. Leather-soled shoes are not recommended. We request you keep in mind the delicate nature of the hard wood floors in many of the homes.
 
What happens in case of inclement weather? 
  All events are held rain or shine.
 
Do you have a child's priced tour ticket? 
 

Small infants that are carried in their parent's arms are admitted with their parent's ticket.  All other children need a regular priced tour ticket.

 
What tours are available other times of the year? 
  Our tour is held once a year in the spring, we present no other events during the year.  There are several museum homes in Savannah.  You also may be interested in the various non-profit tours throughout the year sponsored by other groups. To find out more, please visit www.savannahvisit.com.
 
What payment types do you accept? 
  We accept Visa and Mastercard online. We accept checks and money orders via mail and cash, checks, money orders, and traveler's checks in person.
 
What is your refund policy? 
  All sales are final.  We do not offer refunds. In cases of extreme circumstances, we will provide a letter of donation. These circumstances include severe illness or a close family death. We require written proof of such cases.
 
How will I receive my tickets? 
  Tickets are not mailed. They must be picked up from the Tour Headquarters located at 18 Abercorn Street. Click here for a local map to Tour Headquarters. You need to bring your printed receipt/confirmation with you to pick up tickets. In the event the receipt/confirmation is lost, please bring a picture ID.
 
What is your policy on group tours? 
 

We no longer offer group tour discounts at this time.  All tickets may be ordered using our website. Tour companies are encouraged to contact the City of Savannah for motorcoach information and permits.

 
Where should I stay? 
  Savannah is home to many beautiful bed and breakfast inns, hotels, and motels.  Please visit our Lodging page for local establishments that support the tour through their advertising dollars.  Room availability at B&B's becomes limited in the Spring, so make your reservations early. For more information about lodging in Savannah visit www.savannahvisit.com.
